Classifications of Bad Women: Bourgee and Ghetto

According to a former co-worker of mine, “a chicken head is not a hood rat, and a hood rat is not a gold digger”. To me, a bad woman is just bad woman. Apparently, when it comes to relationships there are varying degrees of dumb.

She (the former co-worker) did agree with my general classifications of Bourgee and Ghetto when describing the type of women that are in and around the hood (some of which are not black but love the brothers anyway). After receiving more input from her, another woman, my wife and a few brothers at the job, I have compiled a table that outlines the behaviors of the basic types of trifling women. Please note that while I have separated the “Educated Hood Rat” from the “Hood Rat” archetype, I personally consider the “Educated Hood Rat” to be a subset of the “Hood Rat”.

I have also added in the “Attention Whore” archetype since my reading the work of Dennis Neder. While this type is not one that is typically described by American black folks, she does exist. I believe she is typically misclassified by the brothers as being one of the other five genre of female. Or, she may also be written by black men as being “just a bitch” because she will not sleep with them----or anybody else.
